I was wondering if anyone could help me in locating a manual for my 1978 American Clipper which has a 440 Dodge engine. Is there a web site or company that sells them? Please let me know.

Hi Kathy

The best manuals are Chiltons, and practically every auto parts place carries them.   The one you want is titled for "Dodge Plymouth vans 1967-86".  If they don't have that particular one (good chance by this date), they can order it.  They're only a few $$.

Good luck, Andy

yup, go to kragens. i prefer haynes type, but they have chiltons too. it'll cost you about $20. the van's the same from 1971- 2003. crazy shit.

You can buy a factory shop manual from "Bishko Books" in Ohio.  Their website in 2001 was www.autobooksbishko.com.  This is the actural factory manual and very complete.   I paid $65.00 for mine and it has been well worth it over the years.  8)

I went to that site and got a e-mail reply that the manual is only for the van portion of my Clipper.I am looking for the factory dhop manual.

Pero_Si:  If you are looking for a manual for the coach of your Clipper, there is none.  Many of the individual things like the refrigerator, stove, electrical panel, water pump, etc. had their own operating manuals.  The best you can do now is to figure out which item you want a manual/parts list for and ask around.  I found some things at RV dealers in their literature and was able to make copies.  Good luck! 8)
