Can I crawl around on the roof of my AC? I would like to take some Soft Scrub to it, but would not like to create a new sunroof. Nobody has ever called me "petite", and so I was curious if I would have any problems up there.

I have been on the roofs of campers and TTs before, and just follow the ribs of the frame. Similar here? Anything to avoid? Anything else I should do or watch for while I am up there scrubbing?

Sorry if this has been answered before, but was not able to find anything. Thanks for the help!

Provided you don't have any roof damage from leaks, it is perfectly safe to walk on the roof. I just resealed all of my vents, AC, and Roof Latter and Lugguge rack without any problem. Prior to that I was up there 4 or 5 times cleaning and expecting. Would be more but I've had my Clipper since last November.

In fact, when I removed my A/C, I saw that the roof is framed with 3/4 plywood. Hell you can carry a VW beetle on the roof of the Clipper.

I would say that stepping very close to vent edges would not be advisable. You could possibly separate the silicon or putty from the fiberglass.

Happy Clippering

When you are up there you will notice the hard  spots where the framing is directly under your foot.  I try to keep my weight spread around while on top.  I did the soft scrub too and it worked great.  Only thing is I didn't get around to waxing it up so now I have to do it again, but this time it won't be so bad.

Thanks for the replies! I found out last night that the roof is not gray with green dots!!

The roof came out good. It was a lot of scrubbing, but was worth it. I noticed that there were a few cracks in the seals around the vents and such, so I will need to repair those. Even with all of the water I had up there, I didn't get any leaks in the cabin.

Time for a coat of wax. I read a recommendation in here for Gel-Gloss RV Cleaner Wax, then use a Meguiar's over that. Any other suggestions? My shoulders are getting a bit sore

Here is a picture of the progress. She is looking much better!   8)

Dig,

Your girl is looking good.

There is a vent pipe near the edge of the roof on the driver's side. The one that runs up thru the closet. What type of vent cover do you have on it? I haven't been able to find anything to fit it. On all the ones I've tried the bases is to wide given I how close it is to side of the RV. Let me know!

I did see that cover. I remember it was a round cap that had instructions on how to remove it - something like "Push here and lift..." or similar. I will go up and take a picture a bit later and post it.
