We lost our timing gear and after getting it replaced we are having trouble getting the timing set right.
I have found both settings  0 TDC and then 4 TDC.

Any help.
Ours is a 1975 with a 360

Hello
I have only lost one timing set, it was on a 360 motor with lots of miles and it was the nylon type also. This is how I time my Dodge motors from that era. On a warm/hot day fill your gas tank with regular or mid grade what ever you will be burning. I time my engines for regular fuel. Then I go out to an open quiet area with no traffic. At about 30 mph in drive I put the gas to the floor without making it down shift and listen for spark knock or pinging. I keep advancing the timing till I hear it ping and then back it off a bit so as I will never hear it, even on a long grade. This will be the best timing for YOUR fuel/motor/coach. I do not tighten the distributor down, just snug + one, so I can make my adjustments eaiser. (it will not move on it's own) Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for the info Jerry.
Years ago when I was doing that kind of work I would time it that way or with using a vacumn guage.

Will try and set it at 4 BTDC and start from there and I its not right will try your way.
