Well folks----As usual I came across an item, looked at it and had a brainstorm. And I'll wager someone out there has already done it, but I'd like to think it is my own.
What I came across is an air compressor that came off an older Caddy or Buick. What my intent is and I have all the parts is to mount the compressor under the seat where the water pump is at, hook it to the ignition switch so it will come on when the key is turned on. With a pressure switch tee-ed into the line I am running to the air bags. The pressure switch I have cuts out at 80 psi. Now with the very small leaks I won't have to check the bags so often. When the pressure gets low, the pump comes on and pumps them back up. Now what I would like to find and there is one out there somewhere is an adjustable switch. I would like about 90 psi. I can get a 80-100 but I am not crazy about that much pressure on the bags and 60-80 may be ok. I'll find out after the trial run. Wish me luck.

What a Neat Idea,  Do you have a pic of that set up??? I know that I would love to check it out..

Might even steal that idea from you and apply it to my rig.

Even having the compressor would be great for Low or flat tires....

Not much really to take a picture of. It's just one of the air ride suspension compressors from under the hood of one of those particular cars. Any type will work, this one was free. Anyway, back to the setup. The pressure gauge will not work to my satisfaction. Trial run on work bench, pressure will shutoff at 85psi. Good I thought BUT it will not come back on until it gets down to 40. No good---So plans have changed a bit. Now I plan on just taking the cutoff switch out of the picture and running a line to the cab with a gauge on it. Instead of it coming on with the key, I am going to put it on a toggle switch and just monitor the pressure. Too low turn it on then back off. Seems simple enough right?  Now will just finish gathering parts and wait for warm weather. Not as young as I used to be and the cold hurts my bones.

Oh I know what you mean about the Cold...

We just got dumped on !!!   11 hours of snow

My project sits out in the snow under a 60 ft Ponderosa Pine.

Next to the Bronco which is another project.  Then I am working on my other project in my garage

1971 Chevelle SS.  Color sanding the new paint and buffing it out.

Next will be the new upholstery as soon as I can buy the new material and foam....

I guess I will be busy this winter......If you are not busy stop by and help.....:)
