Thanks for the info on the 16.5 wheels. My problem is I have been to at least 4
tire dealers and they tell me that 800 x 16.5 tires are not made any more, even
through michelin lists a 9.50 x 16.5 . They tell me I need to go to 16" wheels to
find a tire that will fill the bill. The 800 x 16.5 tires are only 28" tall, and I wanted to get a tire at least 30.5" tall to increase the gear ratio for a little better mileage. It looks like there should be plenty of room. What size tires are you running ? Where were the tires rubbing, front or rear? Tire dealer says should go to 215/85R16 this tire can go 5.5-7.0 wide wheel and is 30.4 tall. What kind of millage do you get with your gear vendors O/D. Also got a set
of Doug Thorley headers , suppose to really increase HP and drop the temp. a bunch. Well thanks again for your input!

I am running the Firestone Transforce 10 ply 8.75x16.5's and I like them, quiet and smooth a quality tire. By my estimate it should take at least 3-4 thousand gallons of gas to wear them out :o
