I was testing the propane system this weekend and noticed that I have a great amount of pressure going into the system (not liquid) and when the heater goes to fire back up it actually blows out the pilot.  I was able to confirm pressure regulator trouble by also noting the frost that formed on the regulator itself.

Has anyone here experienced the joy of replacing the regulator and shut-off valve and can offer any pearls of wisdom?

Thanks,
