Clipper Battery/electrical questions

I got a new house battery Friday could it possibly have been hooked up incorrectly?  Each post had a white light guage wire going to it, if they were reversed could that cause a problem. That being said....

I was running my fridge on DC coming home from the campground(hadn't done this before).  I ASSUMED that when traveling, the alternator would be handling most of the load and it would be minimal impact on battery.
About 1/2 mile from home I realized that my turn signals weren't working, tried my horn, no toot and once home found I had no reverse lights.

The clipper started up again at the house and my check on the house battery showed a good charge.

Could this possibly be just a coincidence with the electrical?  Does the alternator handle the needed charge when traveling.  Other than that another wonderful adventure in the Clipper.  Sue

""could it possibly have been hooked up incorrectly? "    disregard that statement.   Looked again and the wires were black and white.  Rather fool proof.

But,did find a blown 20 amp fuse.  That fixed the compressor for the a/c.

Still no turn signals, backup lights  or horn.  Headlights, flasher and tail lights work fine.

Sue,
Check my post of 30 May concerning electrical problems.  You might find some answers there.  8)

I decided shortly after buying Clipper (3months) to use cooler on short trips.  The fridge I have used with DRY ICE, and it stays cool for the weekend...using a regular cooler as back-up plan for non-perishables.

I've had recent DC/fridge problems and am thinking it draws too much power, while driving...under normal situation the alternator keep coach battery going...but had trouble AFTER first time operating fridge with DC.

Battery re-charched fine--but am gonna learn to use a "VOLT-METER" to check out the rest of the possibilities.

Wonderful weather in NOrth Bend...all the way to Seattle!!

Thanks DP and Richard.  RIchard, I printed off your 30 May post and will go have a look.  If nothing else I will take it and ask my mech about it (I have an appointment Thurs...) but if I can figure it out before then :D
