This website's purpose is to share information with clipper owners and others who are interested in clippers or have old Dodge B300 chassis motorhomes.  In an attempt to share as much information as possible to as many people as possible PLEASE first post your questions in one of the forum boards rather than sending a PM to the webmaster or another member. This will allow other members to find information that may help solve their problem.  By PMing your questions, you decrease forum activity and create more work for active members who end up repeating information to individuals looking for the same information.  Thank you.

My husband and I purchased a 1976 rear kitchen American Clipper a couple of months ago.  We have gone from tents, to campers, and now we finally have a motor home.  We love it, even though we have had to put money in it.  It is in pretty good shape, needed a good tune up and we had to replace the refrigerator.  Hot water in the shower didn't work and had a little electrical problem.  Probably will need new ball joints.  Other then that we love it.

I have sent our paperwork in to join.  We are really enjoying our new (to us) motor home.

We live in Peoria Arizona and go camping to the lake and mountains quite often.  Looking forward to taking it up to the mountains to get out of this heat.

I have learned a lot from this site and thanks for all the information that has been posted.

Welcome aboard. I've had my Clipper less than 1 year and I love it too. I took it to a paint shop just yesterday to have the cab and strips repainted.

Speaking of refrigerator, mine frig went out a month or so back so I've been using a cooler every since. I'm insterested to know what refrig you had and which one you replaced it with. I have a Dometic RM760.

Having a vehicle as old as ours requires continual maintenace but I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

I wish you much happieness with your new found joy.

Welcome to AC ownership! I am very new too, and have been putting in a bunch of time trying to get mine camp-worthy. I have a week long trip coming up, so hoping to get everything back together soon (I am really good at the taking apart thing...).

Enjoy!

The refrigerator that was in it was the one that came with it.  I didn't pay attention to the name.  The new one is a Dometic RM2410.  Last weekend was the first chance we got to us it and it works great.  I know what it's like to use an ice chest, it sucked.

Our good friend, Sally Ann Healy, who was also a member, passed away about 3 months ago. We were in the process of selling our 34ft class A motorhome due to my husbands health and changing interests. When we met with the person handling Sally's estate and her brother to help take care of her dogs, I told them I might be interested in her rv even though we'd decided not to get another one. My husband wasn't very happy about that idea, but they gave us a great deal and we picked it up about 2 months ago and our big one is gone. It's been on two dog show outings and after breaking down on the first trip, my husband has done a lot of engine work and we had an uneventful second trip. (I was alone on the first one and he had to come to my rescue and replace the power steering built!) Anyway, we have done a ton of remodeling it it and it's just adorable! We took out the dinette and sofa and replaced them with two "jack-knife" sofas across from each other that butt up together when down and make one great big bed. We replaced the hot water heater with a new elec. ignite, a new 7.7 cu ft fridge, prego floor, new toilet and floor in bathroom, new cook top cover (oven is like new), new vents including on really nice one with an intake or exhaust fan, and we are not done yet! We, like Sally, show dogs. I wanted something that I could still stay on grounds at the dog shows in and have everything I'd need and still be small enough to just drive around if I'd rather do day parking and go to a motel or campground. The sofa config for the bed is better than the short queen bed we had in the big rv! Of course, the AmClip's bathroom can never replace the walk through bathroom in the other rv, but we are loving the heck out of Sally's old RV and I know she'd approve of the upgrades! Since there is AmClip member stickers on the RV, seems only appropriate that we join!
