Electric fans can actually hinder cooling at higher speeds as some of them impede the flow of air thru the radiator because of the fan housing bolted so close to radiator. Good in stop and go, but better off without it at cruising speeds.

Engine cooling
Forget about velocity and pressure for cooling.     Engine cooling is about volume of flow.     These 440s need a thermostat with a 11/2 inch passage, more if you can find one. Any less,  regardless of the temp rating don't work.A high volume water pump can not do its job if its trying to push water through to small an opening.     Good luck Bob #10
