Hitch reinforcement?

Has anyone had their hitch reinforced properly lately? I have a hitch on my Clipper, but it is only attached to the rear/extended portion of the frame - no good.

I'm looking for a shop in Santa Cruz, San Jose, Soquel, Watsonville, Salinas - or ? - somewhere within 50 miles of Santa Cruz - that does good work at fair prices.

Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks

Horst, I had Pajaro Valley Fabrication in Watsonville install a hitch for me, all I need it for is to hold a bike carrier and pull a small trailer, so I didn't have him reinforce the chassis, but I did inquire about it, and he said it wouldn't be a problem if I ever needed to upgrade it. Their number is 831-768-8060.

I had a hokie set up on mine (previous owner)and it started to fail, twice. Went around to a few shops and they said it couldn't be done. They were just not interested in having to weld on their backs and getting sweaty. I had a couple ideas in my head that I know would have worked and plus other designs from previous news letters. I finally had Fred's welding in Oakley, Ca (east contra county) take on the task and its worked great since and appears to be bullit proof. He welded up T fish plates to shore up the  connected canilever section that butted up against the frame. Then ran a series of cross memebers. Then took square tubing the reciever size ran it down middle of the frame connecting at different levels that was supported by cross members. That finally butted up agianst the cross member that was connected to the bottom of the two T fish plates and that is were the weight is distributed to.

Chris,
Will you still be able to remove your waste and gas tanks easily (without the hitch reinforcement being in the way?)

Can I ask how much they charged?

Thanks

Chris, can you make a drawing of the work they did? I'm trying to get ideas of how to reinforce mine.
Thanks
