Frig on the frits

The frig in our '78 quit working on the electric side, but works great on gas mode. Checked the outlet and it has power. Any ideas on where to look on whats wrong?

Check the continuity of the electric elements.  You do this by 1st finding the leads and determining which is the 110 volt and which is the 12 volt element.  If either or both is burned out, you will have no heating and therefore no cooling.  The elements are easy to replace if you need to, and they can be purchased at most any RV parts counter.

Thanks Richard. I would do that if I knew where to look. Do you do this from the outside access panel or inside where the frig is? I have the wiring diagram for the coach, but darn if I know how to read it. I traced the wiring from the outlet located inside the access panel and the wires lead to what looks like to black boxes. Some said something about a "Heat Strip"?????? I have no problem with all the other elements, automotive etc, but dumb as dirt when it comes to appliances. Only way I will learn is ask and do.

You find everything you're looking for behind the access panel from the outside.  If you look at the wires long enough, you'll figure out What they are for.  Perhaps a RV store can help you with a schematic for the model refrigerator you have.
