I wonder if anyone has had this situation?  When the vehicle is running I can quickly turn the key to 'accessory' and it will continue running.  Also - if I have the key in 'accessory' and jump the starter, it will start and run.

Replace the switch the contacts are broken

Well - I just finished replacing the ignition switch - it didn't fix the problem.  I now have the task of following the wiring through the firewall and the fuse box to see if I can find a bad ground or wires touching that shouldn't be touching.  If I have it on 'accessory' and the emergency brake is on the light is on in the dash so I'll start with that.

The first thing I would do is to stop "quickly turning the key to accessory" in order to keep the engine running.  What's the purpose of doing that?  I'm not sure that every Dodge made won't do the same thing but I'm not going to try it.  Sounds like a good way to get a backfire.

I moved it from its parking place to an area next to my garage to work on the refrigerator wiring and wanted to listen to the cd player.  Thats when I found the problem - I didn't TRY to make it happen.
