This website's purpose is to share information with clipper owners and others who are interested in clippers or have old Dodge B300 chassis motorhomes.  In an attempt to share as much information as possible to as many people as possible PLEASE first post your questions in one of the forum boards rather than sending a PM to the webmaster or another member. This will allow other members to find information that may help solve their problem.  By PMing your questions, you decrease forum activity and create more work for active members who end up repeating information to individuals looking for the same information.  Thank you.

I recently purchased a 1978 American Clipper with a Chev.chasis and thought I'd introduce myself before I start asking a lot of questions. My name is Bob and I live in western Washington.I'm a senior, retired former telephone company employee.
The coach I bought is a 21 foot side kitchen powered by a 400 Chev.small block. It hasn't been run in about 6 years so I have quite a few things to check out and fix before the magic day it runs on it's own.Lots of things to correct=big and small.
First question-has anyone found choices of 8.00r 16.5 tires? So far all I can find is Les Schwab that handles a Dean tire made by Cooper, but I'm not sure if that is the way to go.Price is reasonable but sidewall and tread plys leaves me wanting more.
Question 2-I didn't get a manual or wiring diagram with mine and I'm trying to identify circuit breaker feeds.Looks like I don't have a separate main breaker.I have a 20a breaker that feeds both the inverter and the air conditioner which doesn't seem right. The 15a gfi breaker must feed coach  outlets? On the DC side I have 4 fuses + what is probably a main fuse. what fuse feeds what?
Question 3 Are manuals available any where?
Thanks in advance.       Bob

First of all welcome to the club. My wife and I are the national Chairpersons for the ACOC. The dues are $30.00 to join which allows you the newsletter, notices of ralleys and  best of all the ability to purchase things for your clipper from the club, one of which is the wiring diagram for the rig. You can send your check to ACOC, 2853 Smoke Tree Circle, Stockton, Ca. 95209.

Second thing, I bought a set of tires from Firestone so you might check with them. There seems to be some problem about getting the 16.5 size and so some people have changed out the rims and bought 16 instead. Mel Guerrera who is the national supply officer, has information about this and you will get the complete roster with your membership.

Hope this helps. Also there a number of clipper owners on the site who have done lots of things to their rigs. Follow the posts and you will get lots of help.

I also bought an American Clipper, a 1977 Dodge 440, rear kitchen & Bathroom, Party Model (I think that's what the one with the two Barrel Chairs is called).  I completed the membership application and was going to mail it tomorrow, but noticed here that the address you gave in Stockton is different than the address on the form I printed out from the Website:

Which address should I use?

Well, application is in the wind...  or in the hands of the U.S. Postal Service anyhow.  I mailed it to the address listed on the application because no one responded to my question.  Sure hope it gets into the right mail box.

Cool!  So the address was incorrect?  Regardless, thanks!  Now I can spring for the amount for back issues....  I want to learn everything I can about this RV... it's really in nice condition...  just has a few minor issues and when I will it to my son-in-law down the road, want to have a complete pack for him!  :-)
