Does anyone know what the front and rear wheel torque specs are on a 76 dodge?

LARRY RAY

My Clipper is a 78 Dodge, and hope this will help. My wheels are the coined wheels with the flanged nuts. According to my book, the front torque at between 85 and 115 ft pds. The rear torque at 325. The manual suggest to recheck after 500 miles, but I would suggest, if you have the chrome wheel caps to check before each trip. The reason I say this is that on a trip home a couple of years ago I noticed a vibration type noise.. I checked everything I knew to check. When It finally came down to checking the rear wheel bearings I noticed the lug nuts were not as tight as they should have been. I re tightened all the nuts and lo and behold the funny noise disappeared. Hope this will be a help to you or whoever might read this.

Hi there Larry Ray,  I had a problem the last time we went for a long trip to Solvang.

Had a blow out and got a new tire a Pep Boys..  Problem began when they installed the tire.
They torqued them so tight that The studs broke off after an hour into our drive..

"Three of them..."   Scared the crap out of me and I did not like replaceing them...

removing the axel to that job just pissed me off!   Tk fix someones stupidity ....

Well, we live and learn.... right?   Take care.... John
