we seem to be having some problems getting full power from a converted 110 so we can't run most overhead lights and the water wont pump out into the sink or toilets....do we not have enough power by just hooking up to the house via a 110?

Hi,

We went and bought the converter plug to change to a 110 and hooked it up to our house.  We have no owners manual so we have no idea what we are doing.  We figured out that by hooking it up to the house we can get the cabin AC, the micro, and any outlets but cannot get the overhead lights or the water pump to work.  Any ideas?

Personaly I would be checking the converter. If you keep blowing fuses the That would be the area to look in.

like John said - interior lights and water pump, toilet pump, shower, sink, etc - all run on 12 volt - so your converter needs to operating properly. Could simply be a blown fuse in the converter.........could be something more complex.............check converter fuses first.
When you plug into shore power, put your head next to your converter - you should hear a slight humming or slight "buzz" - that means your converter is working at least somewhat - if three is total, total silence  - well then you have other issues (wiring from shore power to converter, etc.)

I HAVE A 1976 440 REAR KITCHEN ALL WORKS LIKE STATED BEFORE BUT MY WATER PUMP AINT FUNCTIONING RIGHT THE BREAKER INSIDE WENT OUT ANY IDEAS WHERE I CAN GET A NEW ONE OR DO I NEED TO UPDATE MY PUMP CAUSE MINE HAS AN ORIGINAL ONE STAMPED 1976 ON THE SIDE BUT I THINK I CAN JUST REPLACE THE GASKETS AND THAT LITTLE BREAKER ON THE INSIDE OF THE PUMP ANY ONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS???

Horst

those pumps are not that expensive when you compare the cost of repalcing gaskets and the fuse in your old one to a new one - if it was mine - I'd go for a new one - yours is old and some other component is likely to fail soon
