I have been seriously considering pulling the coach AC unit, which works but have never needed, in favor of an additional fan/vent/ some other fancy electrical gizmo (like a flip down flat screen tv ;D) which wont bite my head all the time.
How tough is it to remove one of these units?
I know Bill (maxcamper) pulled his and installed a "Fantastic" brand fan, but I neglected to ask him the details. Is the hole in the roof a standard size for which drop in replacement fans are made?

Hey there Swamp thing, ha ha  Hi Dan... I can actually answer this for ya.

Standard size"  I had a swamp cooler when I bought my rig and replaced it with an air conditioner. whole unit pulled out and the
new Air conditioner just droped in.

Johnny (my youngest's name!)
I thought a Swamp cooler was an A/C unit. If not than what is it exactly?

Hi Dan, swamp cooler was cooled with water
it had a water container under the shroud which you had to fill
before you took off. The air conditioner in itself is the same type
basicly as a window air for the house. freon type filled.
The swap collers were messy things....
