??? Greetings All!!! Well after owning our '76 Clipper for a little over a year it's finally working. It's at a repair shop now having the brakes/master cyl. done. We've come across all sorts of problems & fixed them-everything from a leaking roof to the radiator overflow hooked up the wiper fluid tank. The inside is looking great-i made all new curtains, scrubbed & restained the wood, etc. Now i've come across a mystery...under the fridge i found a little door, i opened it to vacuum it out & noticed some tubing with nothing on the end and there are some wires cut & just hanging. Is that part of the fridge? The entire little area is empty & looks like it's been that way for a while. On the outside of the rv is that little metal plate with the 2 holes next to the door...so i assume there is supposed to be something there. But I don't know, I can take pictures when i get it back so you can see what i mean but i don't know what's missing. If anyone could help i'd love it & I thank you in advance!

Next will be figuring out the stove...hopefully that will be easier than this-but that will be after i fix the valve underneath for the water-we went to open it up it broke off in my hand!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

Looks like someone has taken your Furnace out.  This is where the forced air furnace is located. The two holed chrome plate on the outside by the door is the  exhaust.

We never use ours as it is so inefficient.  We have plumbed in a free standing catalytic heater.

Some area codes may  frown on using these but we've been full timing for many years and find that the ones who live in their rigs all the time don't use their furnace.  We have used all three kinds and you can get a good conversation going on which heater is best Catalytic, Blue Flame, or Ceramic but then ask yourself which is better a Ford Or a Chevy/

I gutted my gas heater long ago and use the space for storage. When plugged into shore power we use a small low amp space heater. If real cold the oil radiator heater works great. We keep it on long enough to take the chill out of the air. When dry camping we use our small Honda generator to power it. Both of us never have liked a lot of heat.

Hey...thanks so much! Something like that I won't even bother replacing,I'll pick up a small heater.I can't picture ever needing it anyway. We live in Jersey (I think i'm one of the only clippers in new england!) so there are plenty of months we don't need heat & with 2 little kids with us, we don't winter camp anymore. So once again i thank you for taking the time to respond & have a wonderful summer! ;D ;D ;D

I don't use my furnace either. We use an electric heater. I also plumbed in a heater under the table commected to the heater hoses on the engine. When the engine is running we got heat. Now that gas is so expensive it really has to be cold to use it but works great going down the road.
