carburator air intake

We just noticed that the neck of the air intake to the carburator almost butts up to the upper radiator hose, within about 1/2", blocking most of the air flow.  Our Clipper has an Edelbrock carburator, so I don't know if this layout is standard in all Clippers. It seems to reduce air intake, so we were thinking of just cutting off a few inches of the neck to improve air flow.  Does anyone have a suggestion for modification?

you can cut it back to just before the heat pipe hooks up to the air cleaner then run a flex dut out and eather put it under the battery or the heater chamber that way youll get good cold air just mack sure it can't suck up water from your wheel wells

Carburator air.There are detailed instruction and diargams in the news letters . Look in the index under "Carburators.They generally draw the air from the top inlets above the grilland are very effective.. And N0, You do not have a stock carburator.    Bob Chaney #2626
