hey i've noticed a lot of you have lovely chrome bumpers. i'm stuck with a brown old piece of metal. any idea where i can find a bumper? is there an old truck out there i can pull the bumper off which will fit? anything's better than the rusty old brown bar!

Mike---I'm not sure what you might have in your area as far as truck salvage yards, but in my area there are several. What I would do is measure the width of the rear of the home, the widthe of the frame and then just go dig and look if they will let you. A lot of the yards have older trucks that have them and if not the front bumber would work yet you mihjt have to manufacture mounting brackets. If needed, i can measurethe outside measurements of mine, make a few calls and see what i can find in my area. Problem is, shipping would be considerable from here to you. (Just a thought)

What a guy!

I've been contemplating putting a 4" square bumber on mine so that I'll have a place to store my dump hose. However, I like the look of the bumper but haven't found one yet. Have to admit I haven't look tremedously hard.

There is a place here in Houston that will re-work and re-chrome the one I have. I'm sure it pricy. Plus bumper replacement is low on my list of things to do to the Clipper for now.

Also, there is a little franchise outfit called The Bumper Man. They'll actually come out to you.

HEY RAY---A thought before you go to the trouble of  square tube bumper. Look at the clipper on the home page. That round tube by the passenger door is like what i have mounted on the fiberglass above the bumper and under the ladder. RV places have these, a very good easy to acesss cap. Brackets make mounting an ease. hose goes in, gloves, and it's right by the dump valves.  It's never in the way either.

I had one of those when I got my Clipper. I didn't like it and removed it. Most probably, I'm going to find a replacement bumper or re-chrome the one I have and continue to do what I do now.

I usually spray my hose with lysol after I dump the tanks and but it in a bag that I keep in the shower. It works for now.

Like I said, I really like the chrome bumper. I just considered the 4" square bumper as an option.

Thanks for the feedback.

RAY--Keep yhe chrome bumper. mount the tube under the ladder in front of the bumper, with opening on side of valves. Just thought of something that mine has and I forgot about. While mounting reciver hitch a few months ago, I found  mine has a square tube mounted to side of extender frame with a hinged door. May or may not be factory, but I'll almost bet it was put there for sewage hose.

I think is factory;  mine has the same thing.

I have the frame mounted sewer hose on my unit.  I believe that was a factory install.  What a pain.  I bought the fiberglass tube holder and mounted it like others have said, under the ladder and above the bumper.  Easy to get at.  I had to grind off a little of the plastic on my sewer attachment to get it to fit.  I keep an extension in the frame mounted box.

Mine has the square compartment underneath as well. My guess is that the installation of that compartment was an afterthought.

I'd feel like I was changing my oil if I were to store my hose there. The rear value is not much better; however, I've come to deal with that factor. I can just drop to one knee and dump the tanks without much effort!

With all the things they did right with the Clippers, putting that hose compartment underneath the Clipper was a very small matter in my opinion.
