Coolant leak

I just discovered a new problem on my Clipper today.  After having sat for the last month or so without being started I decided it was time to do so.  After warming it up and driving around the neighborhood I returned home and shut it off.  I could hear a water leak hissing and assuming it was from a hose or the radiator went looking for it only to discover it was leaking at the driver's side front exhaust maniflod bolt (where the battery ground cable is attached).  Does anyone know if this bolt penitrates into the water jacket in the head?  Hopefully it can be sealed with some sealing compound.  I really don't want to have to pull the head.  Any suggestions?

jimbilly- the exhaust manifold studs do penetrate into the coolant passages.
in my opinion, i would run a tap through to clean up the threads before installing a new stud or bolt with a coating of sealer on the threads.
my sealer of choice would be permatex aviation #3
i reccomend not using a silicone sealer.
