Hello all my fellow clipper captains, I have had my clipper a little less than two months and am looking forward to joining up with ACOC very soon. I have been taking the clipper out to camp at near by snoqualmie and Gig Harbor. The engine seems to idle rough at stops and the lights dim sporadically when in gear. Any ideas? I took it in for new wires, plugs, etc but still kinda misses. Any help on ideas would be great. Also if anyone needs a great pair of seats for their cab I have one here in Washington.  8)

Hi Max, Conrad here in Gig Harbor.  I would like to check out the seats.  Are they the originals or ???  I would like to upgrade mine to something more comfortable.

If you are ever back in the harbor, look me up ahead of time.  I am located right next to the new bridge construction area on the Gig Harbor side.

rough idle - can me many things.
I'd start by checking for an intake manifold leak - if all is OK there - then work your way up checking choke mechanism, timing advance mechanism, the carb itself, etc.
Even a minor intake leak (yes they do fail - mine did, as have others) will make the carb sputter at idle - when it gets bad, your Clipper will simply die at idle, unless you keep the rpms up by pumping the gas with the rig in neutral.
