The sending unit on the 30+ gallon plastic tank of our clipper is kaputt (guage and wiring works). Where can I get a replacement? Anyone know the proper part number (there isn't one on it on the outside).

Thanks,

Dieter

Save the parts of the sending unit.  You may have to repair them. Your best chance of finding a sending unit is from a junk yard off a van or truck chassis having a tank of the same size as yours. I had a similar problem. If you cant find one, look in the little metal box unit on the sender. Open it and you may find the wiper of a rheostat has broken loose.  Solder the wiper back in place.  Its a simple fix. Close up the box, insert the sender back into the tank and you are on your way.

Mark -- thank you for the reply, even though this is not the lazy man's answer I was hoping for...   )  No wonder my mechanic just shrugged when I asked him where I can get a new unit.

Best,

Dieter
