Dual Power Steering Pulley Problem?

I too have had a lot of problems with my belts squealing. I have a '78 440 Dodge Clipper. I have changed the crank shaft pulley because it was getting worn.  I put new belts that seem to fit better, but the belts still get loose and make noise (but not quite as bad). Your idea of using a dual power steering pulley sounded great, so I looked under the hood and it appears that the oil filter is going to be in the way.    The belt that is on there now passes right in front of the oil filter.  It doesn't appear to have enough room for a second belt.  I would like to put a dual pulley on, but before I spend the money, I want to make sure it will fit.  Has anyone else had this problem or is there some way to make it fit.   Thanks - Joe # 3283

Joe do you have the short filter fram ph43 if not thats your problem good luck

Depending on the dual sheave pulley you use, you may have to also shim the power steering pump forward with washers or other material to get it to line up with the cranshaft pulley.  I had to do this to make my system work as my pulley was not the Ford part no. talked about in past issues of the Journal.
