I just found this craigslisting for two secondhand batteries from a winnebago:

20 bucks is a good price, but what do you guys think? Would installing these in my clipper be any improvement over my current deep cycle?

The price is right.   Don't mix the 12V and the 6V.   You won't have much more storage capacity. I have been using 6V batteries for years.  For many years I used Trojan L16HC  They have about 390 Amps.  But they are too big for the Clipper storage area.  So I went to the Trojan J305H which has about 360 Amp.  They work quiet well.
