Speaking of "Pimp My Ride,"  has anyone checked this out: http://shop.mtv.com/detail.php?p=64614&v=mtv_shows_pimp-my-ride

Apparently Mad Mike (the electronics guy) has a '78 Clipper that was featured on disc 3 - cut and past the link to see it listed.  Has anyone seen this?

JerryT

That's cool!
How much time is spent on the Clipper? Do they go inside? Is it a total custom job?

Don't know, haven't seen it - didn't want  to buy the whole set!

I've seen most of it- It seems a stock 24' bunkhouse that was his father's. Original upholstery, appliances, cabinets and wall paper. I didn't see a genny. Mike says he takes it to Vegas, mentions something about break- ins that I haven't full viewed and details the spare parts he carries to keep her rollin'. Amazingly, no major electronics mods- 6 1/2" Clarion speakers up front and a new head unit.

The latest ACOC Newsletter had an article written by Mel Guerrera regarding switching to 16" rims and tires. The primary reasons to consider it is that the 16.5 size is getting hard to come bye plus there is significant cost savings for shifting to a more mainstream size.
The tire size used is 215-85 R16E. They are 1.25" taller than the 725X16.5. The rims are from a Chevy Van and are installed on the rear of a Chevy powered Clipper. Mel has not experimented with the fronts but plans to do so soon. He has access to rims plus can give you info as to where to find them.
He has not done any experimenting with Dodge but mentioned that the Ford rims with 11/16 lugs will likely fit.
