I know this is an old subject but I couldn't find any posting that addressed this specific question.
When re-insulating the doghouse do you remove the old insulation?
Thanks

When I had mine done at an RV shop, he didn't have to remove the old insulation.  He said that the new went on very easily.  SA Healy

Sally's technician may tell you otherwise - but I think there are two important factors to consider before putting new insulation on top of the old/existing.

If the old stuff is tattered and the "cover" paper is missing in many places, your new insulation will not have naything to adhere to. Also, there is the issue of clearance - at some point you have to be wary of getting the doghouse insulation too thick, which impedes air flow while making the doghouse difficult to remove, without getting it hung up on various parts and tearing the insulation.
my 2 cents - fwiw.....
