Call Monkeys RV in Manteca. They have done the repair on my Clipper and I have a 78 as weel. Also just renewed my license on the beast and no smog was needed. Why are you doing smog? I think the 78's are beyond the limit for smog. CanineCaravan- ACOC 3552

yeah  - you have to have a 175 or older Clipper to be smog exempt (lucky me!)

Now there one "trick" - but ya didn't hear it from me - use only if things get desperate.

There are 6 counties in California that are smog exempt in certain zip codes within those counties - they are:
El Dorado, Placer, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Sonoma.

So with a bit of research, you could find out which zip codes are smog exempt - and get a post office box for that zip code, etc. - you get the idea - have never done it myself - but know for a fact that it has been done before.
