Tape-A-Drape

Can you tell me what this looks like ? It was used in my Clipper. Need to order some,but I don't know how to determine the feet I need. Please help .

Tape a Drape (available from ACOC for .75 a foot) is a clear three inch wide plastic strip. Little horizontal plastic glide strips 3/4 inches long are hot glued at three inch intervals 1/2 inch below the top edge. You will need to measure the top and bottom aluminum glide stripping if you want the curtains to be original in design. If cost is an issue you can get by with just the top strip. The strip gets machine sewn along the top and bottom hems of the new curtain fabric. The original tape was not so wide, so I will probably trim mine to 1 1/2 inches wide after I sew it on the curtains which I will pre hem. Thus, the curtains will be flat when closed and will self-gather when open. The previous owners pulled the old glides off the old tape a drape and stiched them to the curtains. This works OK if the fabric is heavy weight or you also use some kind of drapery stiffener. I think you could hot glue old glides to new clear plastic stripping if you could figure out a place to buy some. I haven't bought fabric yet and I am thinking about buying a sewing machine that will handle heavy drapery and upholstry fabric. The original drapery fabric in our Clipper was 100% cotton which is prone to shrinkage and rotting. I will try to find something that looks original with some polyester to stabilize, strengthen and prolong the life of the curtains. Let us know how your curtains turn out if you get yours done first.
