Title: compartment door
Post by: jason kovatch on August 28, 2005, 10:36:08 AM
I have recently purchased a 1976 21 ft Clipper.  It is the rear kitchen, fold out couch and dinnette model. (the 3rd one on the floorplan page).  It is missing the large passenger side compartment door.  In this compartment is the generator.  I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a replacement door for my Clipper.  Thank you all and God bless

Maybe some one has one off a parts rig? I sure don't.
you may have to have one made for you at a sheet metal shop or an RV place. Mine is fiberglass but a sheet metal one my be your only easy option? If its for the generator mine has several rows of louvers to help the air curculation while running.

Hiyya Jason.  Mel, the club supply officer, gets a lotta stuff for us from All-Rite (www.all-rite.com), and they custom make compartment doors, among a ton of other things.  I have onna their wholesale catalogues, and it looks to be an $80-100 item for our size door.... $10 extra for expanded-metal venting.  Dunno what retail is, but Mel could order for you.   If you'd rather call, 1-800-642-9988.

Also, like rodney sez... most any heating/air-conditioning sheet metal shop (Yellow Pages) could also whip one out for you... maybe for less.  Just be sure adequate stiffening bends are put in it.  Be sure you weather strip it well.

Good luck!!
