Title: '78 Dodge Smog stuff
Post by: aliendude on November 09, 2004, 07:29:32 PM
Ok,  even though my title says '75 the VIN comes up as a '78.
THis would make sense as the sticker on the windshield has a number like
34556-77 with the 77 numbers being larger.   I would guess this is the year
it was made, then sold in '78.
No I know the sticker does not say CATALYST on it so this means it
never had Cat converters on it, Correct?
I have books and all the Catalytic stickers would say CATALYST.
Except there is no diagram.   I guess the number of the sticker
corresponded to a diagram in a service manual.
Since I don't have 'this' manual,  I'm trying to redo a smog set up
w/o info...... just a bunch of differnet pictures and such.

I have the parts for a smog pump to put on it, and I can if they say
It needs it for smog test here.   Well, most of the parts.

Does anyone have a '78 ?   What does yours have?
Does it have a Smog pump w/ a second injector farther down the
exhaust pipes?     All the info I have just has the injected lines at the
rear of the exhaust mainfolds,  and only farther back if it had
Cataylic converters on it.

But I'm fairly sure I con't have to have cats.

Any info appreciated.
