I could use a little help. I am getting ready to order parts through ACOC and wondered about a couple of things.
Rear Door Catch: what parts do I order if I need to replace everything? Do I need all three items, and will those items make a complete working catch?
- Catch, rear door, white plastic, female
- Catch, spring reinforcement for above catch
- catch, metal rear door stop, "Grippo", male for above catch
Glass glazing bead: I assume this is the seal around the windows (mine is currently gray and cracking). This is sold by the foot, so how much should a guy order to do all of the windows on a 21 footer? Is there anything else needed to replace this beading?
I will blindly order a koozie or two, since that is more in my area of expertise
Since I am in the neighborhood, is there a way to pick up the parts instead of having them shipped?
Thanks for the assistance -

Sorry, I'm not much use on those items as I have not had to deal with them yet myself. I just wanted to welcome you to the club, and say I was checking out your 'other ride' And what a sweet one it is. Very nice, and I'll bet it's fast enough to get you in trouble too ;) I've been playing with a Subaru WRX lately, but not near as modified as your pony, but still enough to get me into trouble

Yea, no kidding. Your AC looks like it was hermetically sealed in a bubble for 20 years!! You have a beautiful rig! I have used some of your pictures to see what I need to aspire to get mine to

Thanks for the welcome. You have done a great job here. I was very happy to see a good owners group when I was looking at buying my AC. As you probably saw on my Mustang site, I like the message board thing, and when I am looking for information on anything, the first thing I look for is a message board on the topic. Best info on everything!
Thanks for checking out my Stang. It is a lot of fun. I have been pretty good at avoiding trouble so far (knocking on wood right now...). I have taken her to the track a couple of times. That is a blast. Last trip there was a guy with a WRX STi that was killer. Those are very cool cars for sure. I was looking at one for a commuter and play car, but ended up going with an econo-box Saturn Vue. Figured with the AC and the Roush, I was going to need something that I didn't mod and got good gas mileage :)
Thanks again for the welcome, and hosting a very informative site. I appreciate it!! Hopefully I can get an answer or two on my questions above. Would like to order real soon. My RV is looking a little ghetto with the missing heater door

Dig,
For the female part of the door stop, I picked up some plastic catchy things from PPL motorhome here in Houston. I saw them at 2 or 3 other places as well. The are 2 or 3 bucks.
There were two in the pack; however, I've broken both of them in less 1 year. I think I'm going to change the whole setup with something with a little more umpf! I have a 3 year old who love camping and my Clipper more than anything else so mine takes a beaten!
ah, BigRay with the young kids!
That's how it was when we got our Clipper 5 years ago - and I had to make a few changes - the best one was to ditch the "tape-a-drape" system - don't know if you have it - but it is a pain in the rear (even without kids in my opinion)
I switched to brass curtain rods, brass curtain rings, and a thin shock cord to hold them in place when needed - much better function- and looks better too (my opinion of course).
I use the original door stopper/catch deal - but have in a pinch used a bungie-cord wrapped around the inside door handle, then hooked into the fiberglass portion of the wheel well - works great - keeps the main door open, and you can shut the screen door, etc.
Very good - I appreciate the input.
I'm not a real bright guy, so just reading descriptions on the ordering form is a bit tough for me. Pictures are usually my best friend
Maybe some day I can offer up my services and build a web catalog with pictures and such for the stuff the club sells. That would be nice for guys like me that don't comprehend the written word so well
