New Clipper Owner Needs Advise! I've taken a few trips this summer with my new 21 ft Clipper with a Dodge 440 and I have several questions for anyone who cares to respond.
1. The Battery Water light has been stuck on since I pulled the battery out to charge it up after my last trip. I did not disconnect the battery but I did have to pull the cap with the sensor off to get it out of the compartment. The cells are completely full of distilled water/acid and the cap is on tight, I just can't figure out how to get the light to go off. Any ideas?
2. The fridge works great under propane power but I would like to switch it over to 110V electrical when I get to a RV park. Do I need to shut it down first or do I just turn the knob from gas to electric? I've got the refrigerator owners manual but the far right knob is missing and I think I'm supposed to do something with that when using elec. Any suggestions? and/or...are the knobs still available?
3. I've been driving with an ice pack on my gas pedal foot. Is there a way to reduce the amount of heat that comes out around the dog house down by the pedals?
4. Is it normal for the rig to be winding out pretty high (+3500rpm) around 60 or 65MPH? It seems like it could use another gear. The tranny has also been slipping a bit lately. Not bad, just slow to slide into gear at times and it popped out once. Should I worry?
5. I'm trying to figure out how to increase the storage capacity. The logical place seems to be a roof top cargo container. It appears that a 2ft by 4ft one will fit on the roof behind the AC unit and in front of the bathroom vent. How do I get to the underside of the fiberglass roof to get nuts on bolts if I drill through? Is there a better way, or a brand that anyone can recommend?
6. The cruise control does not work. Are there any relatively simple things I can check before giving it to a mechanic?
7. The cab AC does not work also. I was told that it has a leak but the past owners mechanic was unsuccessful in fixing the problem. Any direction I can give the next mechanic?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Special thanks to Mark Smith #1077 for last months awning advise! I had a 12 footer installed that not only works beautifully but matches the striping colors perfectly (8500 Coffee color, $652 installed).

Answer: The probe that goes into your battery , has to be in one of the two center battery cells.if
you put it in one of the end [outer] cells the light will stay lit.I have no idea why this is.But 3 to 4 years
back when I replaced my probe this is what it took to get it to work right.[Different feedback appreciated]
ROOF STORAGE-Not being inclined to drill extra holes in our Clippers roof I mounted roof storage as follows. First Put two "runners" [pads about 1/4 inch thick by 2 0r 3 inches wide]down on the coach roof.these "runners" should run the width, [or length?] of your storage unit running from front to rear .These "runners" could be epoxied to your roof ,[but I did not do so] Position your storage container on the roof up against the back railing.[Epoxy or not?]Then drill through the railing on through the container in two or more locations.Install Bolts, nuts ,&lock washers. Next cut a length of aluminum tubing [SAme size as the railing]long enough to go from rail to rail.Making sure this tube is up tight against the front of the storage unit. Drill and bolt it to the rail. Then drill through this tube and the container in two or more locations, and bolt as done on rear rail. This has worked for me for 8 years so far. Bob Chaney #2626
