Title: Rear Taillight Assembly
Post by: DJ on January 30, 2002, 07:15:00 AM
Where can I get further info on the taillight assemblys on the Clip Jr. catalog.  Are these for all models or only the earlier ones?  I have a '79 and mine are sunwarped to point that they leak badly and are constantly blowing the bulbs.  I've tried various sealants, but once the bulb is gone, you have to reseal the whole thing again to change a bulb.  I'm thinking it would be better to just change out the things completely.  The '79 has a "three stage" taillight.  Outside; tail light, middle orange turn signal, inside, backup lights (i think that's the order, doing this from memory)..

DJ, to the best of my knowledge, the actual housing was discontinued. Reflect-O-Lite was bought by Bargman. You can get the lenses, but the housing seems to be gone. I looked for one myself and was not able to find them anywhere. The ones from Clip Jr are actually for the older rigs, but can be made to work.  You will just have to cover the hole with a reflector or other flat piece of material.
