Has anyone tried using LED lamps...either new fixtures or replacement lamps for the existing fixtures? Looking for ways to cut down on battery drain and the individual lamps for replacement aren't bad price wise. I heard something of them not lasting long....which is supposed to be a reason for changing besides less current draw. I will be stationary most of the time...maybe the longevity problems are due to a lot of over-the-road time? Thanks
In all my years of full timing I have found very few folks who thought LEDs were practical.
If your moving you have sufficient wattage produce by the alternator. If you have hook ups your not concerned with wattage.
Only if you are a real true boondocker/dry camper. Then you use solar. We have found it is much better to add battery starage capacity. The LEDs does use less wattage BUT what with the cost and short life and they are very directional with the light beam.
I would say add storage if your boondocking.
