Title: SeaFoam............
Post by: Horst on May 23, 2010, 07:59:10 AM
Bardahl, Marvel Mystery Oil, and SeaFoam.................
Well Gang - I did a SeaFoam treatment to my 93 Geo Metro (3cyl, 1 liter engine)
I read lots of stuff about SeaFoam on various Geo Metro Owners group web sites, forums, etc.
Lots of hard-core motorheads swear by it, as do the hyper-milers.

Tons of stuff on the Internet, youtube, etc about SeaFoam.

I'm here to report that I DID notice quite a difference after the seafoam treatment - engine idles smoother, quicker throttle response, quieter, smoother engine operation, engine feels quicker (on a 1 liter 3 cyl that's saying something.)
Next I'm going to SeaFoam my 78 Dodge truck with a slant 6 225 that runs rough (and has for years despite tuneups, etc. - think I need a new carb?) - then I'm going to use it on my 88 Olds Custom Cruiser Wagon........and if BOTH of those turn out as good as my Geo - then I'll give it a go on the Clipper.

I'll update the results when I do the other cars......

I've used Sea-foam for several years now. I use it on the outboard motors as well. Not sure how you used it, and I've done it several ways. Poured through the carb and pulled it in by the vacumn line. Seems on my Clipper it seemed to clean it up better by using the vacumn line. Another thing I have done for the 440 Clipper with the gas we have today is to use 2 bottles of octane booster with a fifty gallon tank. Sure seems to help with that awful PING.
