Hi there Hank, Insted of going through all that stuff....
I will go ahead and take the motor out through the door.
My bother in law came by with his tow truck and moved the rig.
Thanks for all the help ..
John
John, A couple thing I forgot to say. I pull the transmission out or back to give you more room and use a swivel connection in the chain so you can turn the motor 90 degrees when you lift it up. Comes out the door much easier that way. What is wrong with your motor? Doug
sucked a valve.............
and a new rebuild too........
Yea, I have the adjuster and pulled the trans today....
Never in a million years did I think I would be doing this again......sigh
Thanks Hank, john
Hey John, What do you mean by the adjuster, you lost me there. So did you get the motor out yet? Did you find out what caused it to break? How much damage was done. What are you going to go back in with? Hank out
John, You say sucked a valve. What was the cause? Broken valve spring? Valve stem stuck in guide? Did the motor run hot or ping? I've rebuilt hundreds maybe thousands of heads. Mopar B heads are not famous for having valve problem. I used K-Line bronze guide liners and micro polish the stems myself.
Well, it appears the valve spring is just sitting in what I call the craddle by it's self
No valve is attached to it!!!! I will be leaving for Oregon on Monday for a week.
When I get bck I will indeed crack the heads and see what kind of damage there is..
If not too bad They might be able to step sleave that cylinder... Other wise they will
build me a motor ..At their cost...
In a way this is a good thing, I needed to remove that damn Airconditioner..
Less weight and there will be more air for the radiator since I removed the crap that hides
the radiator that doesn't need to be there.
Plus I need the break just so I can get some work done on our property.. I will talk at you guys later after I get back.
Later Gaters, John E.
If your heading up I-5 yell at me as you go through Orland and we'll have a cup.
This invite is for anyone on this site.
