Title: Header Coating info
Post by: EKS on November 24, 2002, 09:02:00 PM
For those who have problems with heat in the doghouse consider coated headers. August 2002 CarCraft magazine did an article on header coatings. A GM 454 at 3200 RPM was used to simulate sustained cruise conditions. Header temperature on painted headers was 524F. Header temperature on coated (jet-hot was the coating tested) was 201F. Read the article for other benefits of coated headers.
