Title: hey, where is everybody
Post by: John Eversoll on December 15, 2009, 07:30:12 PM
Thinking that everyone is out shopping for the count down to the final lap

That is why no body has posted a reply to anything...

Have a Very Merry Christmas.. From the Eversoll family in Calif :) :) :) :)

Merry Christmas John, and all of you in Clipper land!  ;D
Yep its been a bit busy, and unfortunately I get to spend the Nativity holidays at work. I leave tomorrow. :-\
On a lighter note, I decided to make a huge batch of Chili for the first time in 15 years and invited some friends over for dinner last night. Problem is that I have never made Chili from dry beans (purists be damned!) before and the Chili STILL is not fully cooked :o It started cooking yesterday at 2:00pm, it is now 7:00am, But it smells really good ;)

Hey pd2;

You didn't presoak and rinse the dried beans?! Man o'chewitz are your guests in for a treat!
Remember the campfire scene from Blazing Saddles?
If not.....you will!

Merry Christmas to you, JE and all,
dave

Chili is done....24hrs later :o Tasty!
I presoaked the beans for 24hrs as well. My wife says that I need to pressure cook the beans separately in the future. She also thinks that tomato stuff inhibits the bean cooking process. I dont know....but we had a good time eating leftover split-pea and ham.
