any one useing the tornado on there coaches?
this is a divise that fits over the carb to create a cyclonic air flow to the intake manifold. they claim it incleases both gas minlage and horse power.

Hi Freebird,
My opinion? It's a scam - right on the same level as "fuel line magnets".

You want to increase your carb performance? -  get some cold air in there by scooping/ramming it in from the front of your rig.

I'm investigating several options on how to best do this.

I'm trying to remember who it was, but it doesn't really matter who.  A friend of mine tested one,  using the dyno in his shop. Net performance gain?  ZERO!

Save your money.

I think while the theory behind the "tornado" is sound, the implementation is is not.  Sure it spins the air and increases your airflow... until the air reaches the odd shapes and bottlenecks in the rest of the air delivery system, where it goes right back to its turbulent state.  For it to really work well, it would have to have been incorporated into the original engineering of the entire system (Volkswagon uses one on their new TDI engine).

This unit absolutly does not work.  Save your money for things that do.   (//images/smiles/icon_smile.gif)
