Anyone know of a good source for front coil springs for our rigs?
It has to be heavy duty springs - most I've seen (Moog, etc.) are NOT for motorhome applications.
Mine are very tired - basically shot - and I need to replace them - probably install new shocks while I'm at it (mine are 6 years old now)

I did the spring upgrade to my 78. I got them at Stengel brothers http://www.stengelbros.com/SuperDutyCoilSprings.htm
They are wound for an extra 500# per side or 1K total. 2250# vs 1750# I think on my rig.
Mine sat tall for a while but setteled down after a year or so.
Good vendor, I have also bought their Monroe severe duty shocks (free shipping) and I also added the Timbren kit to the front http://www.stengelbros.com/catalog/dvf350_1704263.htm Free shipping also. This is a bigger bottom/lower A arm bumper for the front, it softens the down bounce on rough roads, RR tracks, ect. I called the factory and talked to the guy that had this kit made up. He told me that years ago his daddy in law had a class C Dodge camper but refused to come to his house because the road he lived on was too rough, so he had these made, and that is why these are available for an old Dodge, neat story! The three together makes for a nice ride. I almost bought the Bilstein shocks but I opted to save some $ and the Monroe seem to work fine. Any questions just give me a bump. Also I had some play in my steering box, not much but I had it rebuilt anyway while we had the front end apart. Glad I did, as it now drives like brand new, no wander, sway or constant correcting like before, just a joy to drive.

Hi Jerry, got a question for ya.
I put new springs on the front and the last time we were coming back from Washinton I hit a dip and
"Broke a coil"!!!! Not kidding It really broke.
They were suppose to be the TOP of the line weight wise but I guess this one didn't pass the test.
I don't know why I wanted to share that with you --- But-- I did!!!

Shane - our former web master (still webmaster????) also used Stengle Bros - but I noticed that for a 1975, they only have the ones rated at 2025lbs - so I'm kinda bummed out - gave them a call - and they said that's all they had for a 75 :-[
But - still - probably gonna get them anyways - it will be better than what I have - just need to find someone who will install for a decent cost - Shane used said Lloyd's in watsonville - anyone else have any ideas for santa cruz county?

I bet the 2225's would fit in, look at the D300/350 listing, they list both the 2025# and the 2225# for the 71 to 93 pickup, and they have the same part # as the vans----I think all the P.U. springs are the same size around just the poundage/hight is different. I bet a little C.S.I. Santa Cruz work would prove it so! Anyway good luck with the project!!!
