Title: side coach door Problem
Post by: John Eversoll on June 14, 2009, 03:50:45 AM
Here's one for you out there in Clipper Land!!!!!

We have a problem with the rear side door... When we turn a corner the door OPENS!!!!!

I took the clipper to Camping world and had them look at it.  They couldn't find a problem.

But last summer when we were in Oregon my daughter was making her a sandwich by the stove--

I turned the corner and the door opened and almost lost the daughter.   She lost her sandwich

to grab the door frame. I have had four other companies look at the Clipper and to this day

they say nothing is wrong with the door.

Here's a long shot.......

Make sure the door isn't locked.

Shut the door.

From the outside, see if you can pull the door open with reasonable force (don't break your door or anything!!(without using the latch of course to open the door). If you can't, then do this:

Stand inside the Clipper next to the door (with the door shut and unlocked) and try to push the door open.

If it opens easily now, you might have a rear end sagging problem - which would be really noticeable when you have full holding tanks and full gas tank - the frame sags a bit, and messes with the door jam.

If you can't push the door open from the inside - I'd suspect a latch that is almost ready to break (intermittent issue)
