Title: Howdy from the Long Beach (WA) Peninsula!
Post by: Donna on June 09, 2008, 10:43:52 PM
Wow, I had no idea American Clippers were so popular!

We were just given (elderly owner lost all the keys -too much hassle for him) a 1976 21' American Clipper. It has a rear kitchen and bucket seats on a platform.  It's in pretty good shape and everything works.

The only problem we've found so far is that the bathroom vent has leaked, causing some ceiling "waviness" across the back.  We've covered it for now, but Rod will seal the vent once we get some good weather.

One we get it re-keyed, the vent sealed and I clean it up, we'll be ready to roll.  I'm excited!

:) Congratulations on your "new" Clipper.  Here is hoping you have lots of fun with it.  This is a great website, there are some good folks here that can help you with any questions that you have on the American Clipper.  I love seeing pictures of the old favorite.  I had to pass on buying the 1977 Clipper that I spotted.  I had it towed to a mechanic shop and then towed back to its home.  JT

Hi neighbor!  I'll have to look you up next time the wife and I are visiting folks in Ocean Park.  We take our Clipper there quite often.  Hope the Cruise to the End of the World didn't give you too many headaches!  Actally, last summer we ended up in the crowd with our Clipper and we were getting quite a few thumbs up from the rod runners.  We live in Vancouver but looking forward to meeting you in the future!

Hi Danny and Pam!  We go to Aberdeen every month or so, so I'm familiar with the area.  I can find my way to WallyWorld, Taco Bell, Home Depot and the mall with my eyes shut!

Hi Tyler and Lori!  Actually, we were part of the mess of the Rod Run!  We have a 1970 Chevy C10 pickup with all kinds of shiny Edelbrock under the hood and also a racing cam.  If by chance you were here, we were the loudest truck you heard.  ;D  Next year we'll have our 1956 Studebaker flatbed one-ton ready to go.
