Title: Which differential series does the clipper have under it.
Post by: KEYSJUNK on September 11, 2006, 04:42:53 PM
Can someone tell me which differential is under the clipper? I have a 1977,21ft. with the 440 engine.  I believe that  it may be the Dana 60 series, is this correct?  Also looking for a source to repalce the switchs on the information panel for the tank levels for the water and gray water tanks.  :?:

TRY PROGRESSIVE DYNAMICS. THATS'S WHERE I FOUND THE CIRCUIT BOARD FOR MY INVERTOR CHARGER. AS FAR AS THE DIFFERENTIAL, JUST REBUILT MINE AND IT WAS A DANA 60 .

Thanks Larry.  Did you change your gear ratio or keep the same ratio?

I KEPT SAME RATIO. MY REASONING FOR THAT IS IT WAS ENGINEERED FOR THAT PARTICULAR RATIO, AND THE ANY HIGHER ONE WOULD PUT MORE STRAIN ON THE ENGINE CREATING LESS GAS MILAGE. MADE SENSE TO ME. BESIDES 8 TO 8.5 AT 55-60MPH IS NOT BAD CONSIDERING YOU HAVE A HOME ON WHEELS.
