Fresh water tank

Preventative maintenance is always the best, when it is at all possible.  I know many of the Clipper owners carry spare parts in preparation for the unexpected glitches that may occur.

I just went thru a little learning curve myself in the maintenance of my fresh water reservoir. After finding a slow leak, I traced it to a small crack in the plastic tank, near the intake opening, and another on the valve which empties the tank. Took it out and had the cracks plastic welded, which was way less than the cost of a new one.
My repairs led me to find that if any of the lines leading to or from the tank are old and brittle, instead of flexing, will instead put stress on these prone areas during even the smallest movements.
Eventually leaking so slow you may not know until it drips from under the coach.
As a preventative measure, I replaced all of the hoses, vent tubes and drain cock hose as I reinstalled the tank so that I may not visit this tank issue again.
The tank was secured and also insulated with rigid styrofoam for winter trips.
Suggestion: take a close inspection of your lines running to and from the tank, it's not a difficult project to upgrade and replace them all to ensure a little peace of mind down the road.

That Is The Way To Do The Job, Right The First Time.
I Had To Do the Same thing, My Tank Was Fine.
I Put New Lines All The Way To Shurflow  Water Pump.I Also Added A Inline Filter @ Pump.
I Use A large Filter to 3 Micron When I Add Fresh Water To Tank & Put a Small Amount Of Banking Soda to Keep it Fresh. Drain Each Time I Come Home, From a Outing.

I'm sure our newsletter, (my first) is waiting in my Po box., so we didn't know of the February Rally as of yet, but will certainly attend if the calendar works in our favor. Where is it?

I like your filter(s) idea. Two ?  One inline, and the other...where?, on the filler hose before the fresh tank as well??
  Another great idea, we never know the quality of the water we pick up along the way. Water with high percentage of minerals and deposits can wreak havoc in the hot water tank, not to mention plumbing parts. If you start with clean...everything stays clean. I was thinking of a filter on the sink faucet, so at least that water is safer. You have covered all of the faucets this way.
I did replace the plastic ball drain valve (s) ...funny, both the drain AND the fresh supply to coach have ball valves on them. I thought maybe when I am in cold weather, I'll open the outside valve to drain, and close the inside valve, safe from freezing.  We are headed to the Grand Canyon next month and we are warned of the cold, this will be a good winter test flight for further ski trips this year.
