I just removed the aluminum roof cargo rack from the Clipper. It seemed weak anyway, and was just another avenue for water to get in thru the screw holes.  That just eliminated 10 penetrations in the top.!    It looks alot cleaner without it, however I will adhere a bar type tie down for now and then if/when I do put something up there.  When I removed it I saw that the last owner has fastened it with molie bolts like you would use in sheetrock walls !! I Drilled them out and repaired with fiberglass.  Kinda a poor design, the way they were installed right along the rim where the water exits.
If anyone needs parts from, or the whole rack it's all there and welcome to anyone who asks for free.

FYI  I once bought a new P/U truck.. brand new it got 21 miles to the gallon, after I installed ladder racks I lost 2 MPG !!  I don't know how much this plays into our rigs, but I do know less drag is better!!
