Exhaust Pipe Size and Bypass Smog Pump

Hi All,

Yesterday I was under my Clipper with a guy at a fabrication shop who is going to fix and reinforce my rear-end sag.

While under there, he notice that my mufflers were a bit swollen. He said that I could ratify the problem by putting larger exhaust pipes. The existing ones are a bit small. He said I would get some extra power and fuel efficiency.

Any suggestions on correct pipe size and mufflers. I like my girl as quiet as possible.

Also, in Texas I don't have to worry about emissions on my 79. I want to disconnect the smog pump and putt a small belt on to bypass the smog pump. Naturally, I will have to put plug in the manifolds where the air injection hoses are. Any idea what this will do for horsepower or fuel efficiency. Let me know!
