tl;dr: Stock carb replacement for '76 Clipper: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1126252&cc=1074743&jsn=449

My clipper won't pass smog (curse you, 1976) with the 4bbl carburetor a previous owner installed on it. Even though I have a lot of the documentation the vehicle was sold with, there's no information about the stock carburetor. I searched the forums, but the closest I can get (without being a member [no checkbook, trying to figure it out]) is information on the 1975 Carter 2BBL stock carb. I assume it's the same for a '76 engine, based on my research at Allpar.
So I thought I would share what I've found and learned and see what folks have to say (Hi ClipperJoe! Glad you're here).
I'm going to put parts I believe are OEM for Clippers in green and parts that are available modifications in orange.

First:
Bureau of Automotive Repair, San Jacinto College referee station 799230
Compliance Checklist:
Install ARB approved carb (2barrel instead of 4barrel)
Install/repair throttle return control system
Install/replace/repair Thermostatic Air Cleaner (TAC) system
(this is because a previous owner installed new exhaust headers that don't have a port for the TAC hose)

The technician gave me a scan of the checklist of devices and systems for the engine in a 1976 Dodge Sportsman. I've attached the scan he gave me. The engine is classified as V8-360 2Bbl HDC, Calif., type F. This type of engine had a Coolant controlled exhaust gas recirculation valve, a deceleration throttle control, evaporative control system, exhaust gas recirculation, heated inlet air system, throttle positioner, vacuum amplifier, and vacuum reservoir. The air cleaner currently installed on my vehicle has an NOx (Oxides of Nitrogen) system for the OSAC (Orifice spark advance control), but it's not stock and isn't necessary, strictly speaking.

Second:
Allpar. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1976,b300,5.9l+360cid+v8,1074743,fuel+&+air,carburetor,5904
The relevant information starts 1/2way down the page. There's a table of the versions available in 1978, two years after mine. In the table, it reports two variations of the 360:
360   Carter 2-barrel   155 @ 3600   275 @ 2000
360 E58   4-barrel.   220 @ 4,000   280 @ 1,600
At the bottom of the page, it has a list of valve sizes, camshafts, and carbs for Lightweight-A engines like the 360. It suggests that the 360 came with a thermoquad from '74 to '85, or '71-'92, a 360 Carter BBD 1 1/2" and Holley clones post 85 maybe some Rochesters.
Allpar has a page of tips for performance http://www.allpar.com/mopar/4bbl.html and a page for repair http://www.allpar.com/fix/vintage.html

Third:
RockAuto parts catalog. I went hunting for the badge on the passenger's door that would tell me what model of Dodge Sportsman the '76 Clipper was built on, but I found nothing. I'm forced to turn to promotional materials, even though I'm not sure I would trust them to perfectly reflect the reality of the vehicle. For example: the 821F brochure lists transmission coolers as optional, but the American Clipper Special Report from 1976 lists the transmission cooler as standard. Nonetheless, I am forced to trust what I can find. On the Special Report, there is a small chart labeled "Standard and Optional Equipment--Dodge Motor Home Chassis." The buyer has marked "ours" in pen above MBH300, leading me to believe the van chassis was a B300 series.
If it is a 300 series, here's a parts catalog for all the equipment that should fit/replace OEM parts.

I am forced to conclude that the closest match they sell to the original carburetor is this Holley 2-Barrel Remanufactured Carburetor.

Carter went out of business in 1985, or so says Wikipedia.

Fourth:
Miscellaneous.

Autozone. For some reason, I was able to access a list of vacuum diagrams from Autozone without having to register to use their site.

They have some advice on how to check for OEM hose diagrams. "If you wish to obtain a replacement emissions label, most manufacturers make the labels available for purchase. The labels can usually be ordered from a local dealer. A vacuum hose diagram can be found under the hood, on the passenger side of the firewall."
Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Ram_Van#Original_B_series This is the Dodge van series Clipper based the RV on.
Allpar. http://www.allpar.com/trucks/b-vans.html This is Allpar's information about the Dodge B-series.

Thanks for sticking with me through this information dump!

Smogging in San Bernardino County. Took it to a state referee, so I would think his word is final. I've got the 360 2Bbl V8 type F, is what he said. Not sure what the type means in this case; can't track down info.
The guy buying my parts should know what he's doing as far as replacing parts, but I doubt I have any of the original equipment still attached, and because I didn't do the mod, I don't have it lying around.

Not a member of the club yet. Wishes are fishes and I don't even have the money for fish yet.
There are two plaques I've got: one from under the step in the rear that tells Clipper information, the second in the front on the driver's side (???) that tells Chrysler information. I'm linking to both.

The Dodge chassis is identified via the VIN.  The first 2 digits (a letter with a number) is the model and body code.  F at the beginning stands for "incomplete chassis" and is how all Clippers should show per the VIN.  3 stands for the B300 model.  The 3rd digit (a number) is the actual body code - mine is a 4 for a hi-line wagon (although it's branded with the just Sportsman name); 2 is the Sportsman body.

The 4th digit in the VIN (which is a letter) stands for the engine/carb.  F is a 360 2bbl; A or D is a 440, and a T (unusual) is a 360 4bbl.  This is the "type F" I believe they are referring to - the VIN identifier is an F which is the 360 2bbl engine.  I don't believe ANY clipper or other motorhome was built with the type T engine/carb configuration.

See here for the full VIN decoding:  http://www.vintage-vans.com/dodge_vin.html

The 75 and the 76 should have the same carb.

I had the 2bbl in my 1975 switched out for the 4bbl and there wasn't a whole lot different - the manifold was considered the "biggest deal" but the machine shop just happened to have one ready to go when mine came in.

The MB300 identifier was not used for American Clippers.  Irv Perch appears to have purchased stock B300 cab & chassis and not ones made specifically for motorhomes.  The MB300 identifier was used for Class A motorhomes - Dodge built the bus chassis that they were built on.  You should purchase parts based on the B300 not on the MB300.
