Hello & Welcome Cfcatt,
I found This Data that, May Help You,
It Is So Easy To Google For Info.

This is a subject that most RV'ers know very little about -- wheel lug nut torque.

If your Winnie uses Budd wheels (identified by a square-headed inner "spool" holding the inside tire, and a larger lug nut holding the outter wheel), your inner torque has to be 275 - 300 ft/ lbs; the outter torque is between 325 and 350 ft/ lbs.  IF YOU ARE USING A REGULAR LUG NUT WRENCH, YOU CANNOT TORQUE THEM PROPERLY!!!!

If your Clipper uses a single lug nut to hold both wheels, these are called "Pilot Hub" wheels.  The torque on each lug nut has to be around 300 - 350 ft/ lbs.  Again, you are not going to be able to torque them properly.  The Budd wheels use 450-500 ft/ lbs for both the Budd nut and the lug nut.

If you must remove your lug nuts, torque them as tight as you can with your lug nut wrench, then drive slowly to a truck stop or truck tire shop and have them re-torqued to specs.  Take To Big Rig Tire Shop, They Have A Multi Torque Wrench.
Mine Goes To 200 Lbs.

The Rear Dual Wheels On A 1975 Clipper Are Budd 16.5 Rims,
The Fronts On 1975 Uses Truck or Van1 Ton Rims.

If you Need More Info, I Can Copy Out of My Owners Dodge Parts Maintenance Manual.

Take Care & Be Safe,

Clipper Joe

Ps; Make Sure Rear Dual Rims, Make Sure Lining Pin In Used & Valve Stems Are At
180 Degrees.

Classified / We Need a Windshield! Yikes!
Last post by coloradocully - February 20, 2021, 06:56:18 AM
Our 1977 Clipper "The Diggler" has a severely damaged windshield. Still in tact, but not looking very good!

We have tried EVERYWHERE to find a replacement and have had no luck. We are even told it is obsolete and not made any more.

Anyone have one? We have money! 8)
-or-
Anyone know a way to keep the cracks from spreading in case we just need to ride it out with this one?
-or-
Anyone know a windshield that could work to replace it? We know the part number is DW00760 and not looking good to find one. Probably unrealistic, but anyone know a windshield that would be "close enough" to act as a substitute? (if such a thing can be done in the world of windshields)

Looking for any experience, strength and hope the ACOC has to offer. Thanks as usual and safe travels, guys!

Hello SierraJoe,
Hope You & Your Family Had A Wonderfull Christmas.🎄🎄
Seems Like You Did A Good Job In Getting Your Clipper,
Ready For Winter. Antifreeze, Is A Great Idea. Joe Do You Have Covers Over Your 14 in x14 in Vent Covers?
They Have Them At Walmart, About $25.00 Each.
If You Do Not, Would Be A Good Idea, To Put A Small Blue Tarp On Top Of Kitchen & Bath Vents & set A Few 4inx4in Boards On Tarp, Keep It Down On Wind. It?s Also A Good Idea To Check Inside After A Few
Bad Rain/Snow Storms, For Any Leaking.
Also Put Inside A Large Drum Of Damp It
To Maintain Moisture Level, And Control Any Mildew..
One Other Thing, Have You Got Your CB Yet? I Will Be Soon Listing Some Dodge Van Nos Parts In Another Post, Since I No Longer Have My Clipper  ?Wilson?.
I Have A Cobra 29 40 Channel Chrome Anniversary Model Used 1 Time & Have A 48 in Fire-stick Antenna. And Many Other Parts.
Need To Clean Out Garages.

Have A Wonderful & Safe New Years 2021,

Clipperjoe

Hi Clipper Joe, nice to hear from you again! Thanks for all the help you have given me with our Clipper. Currently our Clipper is in dry dock for the winter at the side of our house. I have the fresh water drained, water tanks empty and the traps and toilet filled with RV antifreeze till spring. Happy to report she ran great this season after replacing the thermostat, clutch fan and installing a new power steering pump. She ran cool and smooth. We weren't able to get out much last summer as we couldn't camp in our usual spots because they were always full of people escaping Covid from the valley. I had never seen so many people in my life in our local mountains. Nice to see people getting out, but bad for boon docking, way too crowded for us. I did buy a CB radio to install but will have to think about which type of antennae will work best. Magnetic wont work as I need a good metal ground plane. I'm thinking dual antennas mounted on the mirrors. I'm also planning to install new brakes all around and replace the rubber brake hoses. While I'm at it, Ill also repack the wheel bearings.

Hope everyone is well!
